In1985,hereturnedtotheleadershipoftheStateCouncilinaccordancewiththeinstructionsoftheCentralCommitteeoftheCommunistPartyofChinaandtheStateCouncilonadjustingtheleadershipsystemofnationalarchiveswork.ThesuccessivedirectorswereZengSan,ZhangZhong,HanYuhu,andFengZizhi.

OnDecember7,2014,theNationalArchivesBureaubegantopublishsevenepisodesofonlinevideo"SelectedWorksofNanjingMassacreArchives"onitsofficialwebsite.ThereleasefrequencyisoneepisodeadaytocommemorateChinaonDecember13.ThefirstNationalMemorialDayforthevictimsoftheNanjingMassacre.ThisisthefirsttimethattheNationalArchiveshasreleasedtheNanjingMassacre-relatedarchivesintheformofvideo.

JobResponsibilities

(1)Implementoverallplanningandmacromanagementofnationalarchiveswork.InaccordancewiththepoliciesandregulationsofthePartyandthestate,formulateguidelines,policies,regulations,andrulesandregulationsforarchivalwork;organize,guide,inspect,supervise,andcoordinatethearchivalworkofthecentral,stateagencies,military,massorganizations,andprovinces,autonomousregions,andmunicipalitiesdirectlyundertheCentralGovernment.

(2)Centralizeandunifythemanagementofimportantarchivesandmaterialsofthepartyandthestatecentralorgans,conservativepartyandstatesecrets,maintaintheintegrityofarchives,andensurethesafetyofarchivesandmaterials.

(3)Responsibleforreceiving,collecting,sortingout,andkeepingimportantarchivesandmaterialsofthepartyandstatecentralagencies,promotingthescientificmanagementandmodernizationofarchiveswork,doingagoodjobinarchivesediting,researchandpublication,andprovidingforthesocietyuse.CollectChinesearchivalmaterialsthathavebeenlostabroad,andarchivaldocumentsandhistoricalmaterialsrelatedtoChina.

(4)Developaplanfortheconstructionofthearchivesstaffteam,organizetheprofessionaleducationofarchivesandthetrainingofprofessionalarchivescadres.Responsiblefortheappraisalandappointmentofprofessionalandtechnicalpositionsinarchives.
