CPU radiator

Radiator Classification

CPU radiator can be divided into three kinds of air cooling, heat pipe and water according to its heat dissipation.

Air-cooled radiator

Air-cooled radiator This is the most common radiator type, including a heat dissipation fan and a heat sink. The principle is to transfer the heat generated by the CPU to the heat sink and then take heat away from the fan. It should be noted that the heat sink used by different types and specifications CPUs, such as the AMD CPU uses the radiator used by the Intel CPU, and the radiator used by the Intel 478 pin is also different. The heat sink used by the Intel 775 pin CPU is also different. . As shown in Figure 1.

Heating tube heat sink

The heat pipe radiator is a heat transfer element having a very high thermal conductivity, which transmits heat by evaporation and coagulation of liquid in a fully enclosed vacuum tube. Most of this type of fan is "air-cooled + heat pipe", which has the advantages of air-cooled and heat pipes, with extremely high heat dissipation. As shown in Figure 2, the Frost Tower Extreme Edition.

Water-cooled radiator

The water-cooled radiator is the use of liquids to force the heat radiol in the pump, which has quiet, cooling and stable compared to air cooling. Depending on the advantages of small, etc., as shown in Figure 3.

How to choose a radiator

How to choose your own suitable heat sink, which is very important to buy a good radiator. Here is some parameters for the heat sink. Fan power: Under normal circumstances, the larger the power, the stronger the wind of the fan, the better the heat dissipation.

Fan speed : Typically, the higher the speed of the fan, the larger the air volume supplied to the CPU, the better the air convection effect. However, extremely high speeds will bring heat, and exacerbated the wear of the fan, therefore need to be a balance between the two.

Sleeper material : The radiator is widely used, and the aluminum alloy with a low price, good heat dissipation is good as a heat sink. At the same time, in order to improve the overall heat dissipation effect of the radiator, the high-grade heat sink is better than copper media with heat dissipation effects with the CPU cooling core.

Fan noise : refers to the sound from the fan operation, which is mainly affected by fan bearing and blade.

fan exhaust volume : The air exhaust amount is an important indicator for measuring a fan performance. The angle of the fan, the fan speed, etc. are determined factors affecting the exhaust of the cooling fan.
