Chinese name: Generator Rotor English name: generatorrotor Definition: The rotating part of the generator. It is mainly composed of conductive rotor winding, magnetic core, rotor shaft extension, guard ring, center ring and fan.

The generator rotor can be divided into two modes, one is the pivot type and the other is the pole-rotating type. ① Rotating armature type: the magnetic poles are placed on the stator, and three-phase symmetrical armature windings are installed on the rotor. When the rotor rotates, the stator magnetic field is cut, and the three-phase electric potential is induced in the rotor. Three slip rings are used to draw three-phase alternating current; The machine power can not be increased, only used in the early small generators. ②Pole-rotating type: the stator is equipped with three-phase symmetrical windings, and the rotor is equipped with magnetic poles and excitation windings. Two slip rings are used to pass DC excitation current to the rotor excitation windings to generate a constant magnetic field. When the rotor rotates, this magnetic field also rotates. The magnetic field of the rotor cuts the three-phase symmetrical winding of the stator, and induces the three-phase symmetrical electric potential in the three-phase winding of the stator. It has a wide range of applications.
