OnApril27,1961,the"ChinaOceanShippingCompany"wasannouncedinBeijing.Onthesameday,theGuangzhoubranchofChinaOceanShippingCompanywasannounced.OnApril28,thefirstpassengership"Guanghua"flyingtheflagofthePeople'sRepublicofChinaheldagrandmaidenvoyageceremonyatHuangpuPort,Guangzhou.Subsequently,the"Guanghua"vesselsailedtoJakartaPort,IndonesiatopickupthedistressedoverseasChinesebackhome.

OnJune8,1987,theGuangzhouOceanShippingCompany'sComputerCommandandDispatchCenter,asubsidiaryofChinaOceanShippingCompany,wasofficiallyopened,markingthebeginningofChinaInternationalShipping'scomputercommandanddispatchofships.Theageoftransportationandproduction.
